Project Description

The BBA97 was designed to restrain the rapid growth of post acute care services both in the home health care and nursing home arenas. From a fiscal perspective it has been a resounding success, but its clinical outcomes remain largely unmeasured. Our project, "Outcomes of rehabilitation in newly admitted nursing home residents" compares patient outcomes from before and after the new payment system's introduction using a propensity model to control for selection bias.
